Recent Events and News

We had a beautiful Grand Opening on September 12th, where we celebrated years of hard work. There are many people who deserve recognition for this acheivement, including those with the town of Cornelius, the many volunteers and fund raisers, our supporters, our partnering organizations, and so on.

However, perhaps the most recognition is deserved by officer Kenny Russell, who began this shelter and has quietly and patiently dealt with all of the commotion of it while focusing on the animals, and Bruce Forrest, who has organized many groups and individuals toward this common goal and worked many long days and nights to acheive it.

Kenny and Bruce are shown here with a stain glass representation of our new logo, created for the circular window above the shelter's new entrance and donated by an organization that has provided us much support over the years, Friends for Life.
