How to Help

There are many ways to help the Cornelius Animal Shelter. Whether you have time, talent, money, or a home for fostering, we can use your help!
  • Donate or Sponsor - We always need donations and sponsors for our animal wellness programs to help give the animals vet care and grooming (not to mention keep the lights on and the bowls full). Use the Donate link at the top of the page to donate securely via PayPal. Contact Bruce Forrest regarding sponsorship opportunities.
  • Buy a Brick or Magnet - Fill out and mail in this Brick Order Form to purchase an engraved brick for our new patio. The first part has been installed, but we will be adding more. Car magnets are available for purchase from Town Hall on Catawba Ave. or from our many friends, including the North Mecklenburg Animal Shelter.

  • Volunteering - Please review this list of Volunteer Duties for acitivities we need done regularly at the shelter. If you are interested, click here to download the volunteer application. The application includes instructions for submitting. You can also contact Bruce Forrest with questions regarding volunteering.
  • Fostering - Most animals do much better in a home environment than a shelter, but puppies, animals requiring medication, dogs needing training, and animals needing socialization especially need foster homes. If you are interested in temporarily opening your home to a foster animal until it is adopted, please fill out this Fostering Application and contact Heather Simmer. And YES, this is a great way to test out a dog or cat you are interested in adopting yourself!
